The Women’s Resource Center was founded in July 2003 and is open to all women regardless of age, race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation and social status.

The Women’s Resource Center supports women and provides resources to empower them, to encourage their participation in social, political and cultural activities, and to further their personal and professional development.

Background information

Association “Imedi”-IDP Women’s movement for Peace is a non-governmental organization which was registered in December 1999 in Georgia.

Mission: to support and strengthen democratic developments in Armenia, to invest in building atmosphere of security, justice and tolerance not only in Armenia, but in the regions as well.

The founders are IDP women from Abkhazia: Alla Gamakharia, Mary Gelashvili, Nanuli Ramishvili, and Zhanna Chabukiani.

Non-governmental association “Avangard” is the charitable organization operating in Gali region since  February 2001. There are 12 permanent  staff members working in different projects and 6 volunteers in the organization.

WPRC is the legatee of a FEMINIST CLUB – a non-governmental, non-profit, non-partisan organization which was founded in April of 1998. In 2003 FEMINIST CLUB and Tbilisi State University initiated coalition of non-governmental organizations and individuals – WOMEN’S POLITICAL RESOURCE CENTRE – WPRC.
