The founders are IDP women from Abkhazia: Alla Gamakharia, Mary Gelashvili, Nanuli Ramishvili, and Zhanna Chabukiani.

The mission of the Fund is to develop women’s activity through educational, legal, economic, social, informational and other activities, also to increase women’s role in building democratic society in Georgia and in peaceful resolution of Georgian-Abkhaz conflict.

Vision of the Fund is the wish to live in the society of gender equality and peace.

Directions of activity:

·     Support women for their advancing in decision making process;

·     Render assistance for protecting women’s rights;

·     Strengthening of women’s role in People’s Diplomacy;

·     Cooperation with the youth;

·     Informational activity.

There are 26 employees in the organisation, also 20 initiative groups under the leadership of women-volunteers in Western Georgia - Imereti, Samegrelo, Guria, and Adjaria. There actively work Club of women-peacemakers, Club of young journalists and Club of women-voters as well.

In the Fund there experienced trainers giving trainings in different fields.

Since 2001, the informational bulletin “Women’s Voice” reflecting different directions of activities of the Fund has been issued monthly. There are also published journals, as well as manuals, calendars, posters, and other agitation materials. There are carried out educational training-seminars (target group – IDP women), open debates, round tables. The Fund carries out systematic TV and radio discussions with participation of experts and representatives of society. There are practiced anonymous radio monologues of victims of violence with psychologists’ comments, lawyer; there is “hot line” and psycho-rehabilitation service;

There are systematically transmitted social audio and radio reels against domestic violence on regional radio and TV companies.
